WHO WE ARE

Since 1999, Millennium Support and Care Group has been dedicated to supporting the optimum quality of life for seniors, the ill, and the disabled through home care, community and social service projects. Millennium Support and Care Group is a registered non-profit and charitable organization serving the GTA, York Region and beyond. Originally founded by nurses, the aim was to meet the needs of seniors that were not being addressed by the health care system, by applying the group's extensive nursing knowledge to benefit the community. Our efforts to improve the lives of the elderly and the disabled work in cooperation with Federal, Provincial and Municipal levels of government as well as various foundations and private donors. Millennium Support and Care Group reaches and serves people from a large and diverse multicultural community.

Initially, MSCG sent nurses to hospitals, nursing homes and private residences but over time, the organization realized a lot of seniors needed more companionship and needed to bring the senior community together to support one another. Besides providing nursing services to assist with senior’s everyday needs, MSCG wants to use their programs to create a positive, encouraging community for seniors in order to diminish Dementia. Dementia is general term for a decline in mental ability severe enough to interfere with daily life that gradually impair memory, reasoning, judgment and thinking, the most common of which is Alzheimer’s disease. As dementia is a growing global health concern, we believe it is important for us to prioritize spreading awareness and educating the community on it. Hence, MSCG has implemented more programs alongside home care in order to reach the needs of more seniors that could benefit from their care, such as Feel Better, Live Better in 2010 and Taking Care of Yourself, Your Friend and Neighbours in 2011.

ABOUT US

WHAT WE DO

MSCG's mission is to improve the lives and health of seniors, people with disabilities and those suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's by implementing a variety of programs that improve the health and wellness of seniors. Our objective is to reduce isolation and increase physical and mental activity amongst seniors. Our goals are to alleviate feelings of isolation which are often felt in the socially neglected communities by organizing activities such as congregate dining, friendly visiting, and other social and recreational events.
